The Australian Blues fans might not like this one .... Grosso is the bar steward who dived in the 2006 World Cup round of 16 to earn the penalty in the dying seconds which knocked the Aussies out.

Grosso is still a dirty word over here ... a bit like N'Gog is at St Andrews.

.

Neill slid in, Grosso tried to run around him but couldnt avoid tripping over Neill's head. wasn't a pen but wasn't a dive either IMO

Grosso went to skip round the grounded Neill, and Neill raised his elbow to hit Grosso's knee, and then lowers his left hand to grab Grosso's left foot as he tried to go round him.

Anyone who still says that was a dive, is just looking for an excuse as to why Australia werent good enough.

Simples.

I remember the backlash from the fans when he was placed in the provisional squad of 30 men or however many it is, and then when Marcello Lippi trimmed it down to 23 and dropped Grosso.

That, alongside not picking Fabrizio Miccoli, were probably his first two major mistakes.

Lippi just picked his mates rather then the best italian players.

what about balotelli, rossi and cassano?

between those three and Iaquinta and Quagliarella i know who i'd have rather had upfront.

Its well known in Italy that Napoli players like Quagliarella would never get picked over the Stronza from the north.
